Should you choose heavyweight, you still need to determine a fighting weight goal or plan to improve your body fat percentage to maximize your success in this camp.

Plan like a Champion

This 8-week camp will push you to peak mental and physical condition. You'll build a stronger mindset, eliminate excuses, and prioritize your health. When you experience how good you feel eating clean, training daily, and resting well, maintaining fitness year-round becomes natural.

Ask yourself:

What weight gives you the best chance to win a 12-round fight? Fighters typically drop 20–30 lbs during training to optimize performance.

Don't rely on dehydration or saunas. Aim to get within 10 lbs of your target weight through proper training and nutrition.

Focusing on one area while neglecting others limits your potential. These 8 weeks demand discipline in exercise, diet, sobriety, and sleep.

Training like a Champion

We'll make sure you're safe by tracking everyone's vitals via the MyZone Heart Rate Strap (Separate Purchase Required)

You'll train everyday, sometimes twice a day, with a minimum of 5 boxing sessions per week.
Mental Toughness

Daily workouts may leave you tired and sore initially. Keep training and you'll feel better.

Your body naturally conserves energy and stores fat so we have to override this.

This is your commitment to yourself. No days off. No excuses.

You can do workouts outside the gym like running, lifting, sprints, or intervals. Mixing exercise types aids recovery.

Also try a hard workout in the morning, lighter session later to aid muscle recovery.

For example:

box in the morning, then easy run or jump rope later. For best MyZone stats, combine short intense workouts with longer, easier sessions.

As you approach your goal weight, focus on speed and strength while maintaining good habits.

Track your speed, endurance, and strength as those are easier to measure than boxing skills.

Get a DEXA scan before camp (small fee). It shows body fat, bone density, and more. You MUST get scanned in February and after camp ends to track progress.

Also track: fastest 2-mile run, fastest hill sprint, sprint duration, and max burpees.

If you need to lose weight, you also need to get faster and stronger. Remember, this isn't about losing the most weight. It's about peak performance and feeling like a strong athlete.

Recover like a Champion

Sleep is essential when training hard on restricted calories. Aim for 7–8 hours nightly, plus a 30-minute nap if needed.

Light workouts aid recovery. After a tough morning session, do an easy 20-minute workout in the afternoon to reduce soreness.

Tour de France cyclists race everyday, even on rest days, to stay loose. Our bodies can handle more than we think.

Ice Baths & Saunas

Ice baths and saunas accelerate recovery. Science confirms that both work.

Recommended Protocol:

20 minutes in a sauna (180°F+) followed by 5 minutes in a cold plunge (40°F). Do this twice a week for best results.

Nutrition is critical. Aim to eat 1 gram of protein per pound of target weight daily; for 150 lbs, that's 150 grams. For reference: 1 lb of meat ≈ 100 grams protein so learn to estimate. Proper recovery enables consistent hard training. That is the cycle that builds peak condition.

Set Goals like a Champion

This camp is not just about weight loss. It's about becoming a better athlete, finding your optimal performance weight, and being as strong as possible for your weight class.

For Example:

someone starting at 195–200 lbs would be a cruiserweight. However, most cruiserweights are 6'2"–6'5" and start at 230 lbs. I'd perform better at light heavyweight or middleweight.

This camp is about testing your limits. Your body can do amazing things. There are no shortcuts to anything worthwhile.

Just like physical strength, mental toughness builds gradually over time. This camp helps you discover your capabilities, but lasting results require lifestyle changes.

Pay attention to nutrition, prioritize exercise for longevity and mental health, and recognize how your environment shapes you. We're built for hard work and challenges. Push yourself, do the work, and find satisfaction in the effort.

Diet like a Champion

Don't eat anything white (No rice, bread, pasta, potatoes, or grains)

Eat the same meals over and over again, especially breakfast and lunch

Don't drink calories. No alcohol period.

You can eat fruit in the mornings and prior to workouts, limit sugar intake after 4pm.

Eat 1 gram of protein per 1 lb of goal body weight daily. 1 lb of meat = 100 grams of protein

Remember to drink plenty of water. If your liver is burdened with dehydration, it won't metabolize body fat well. Consider taking an electrolyte powder without sugar first thing in the morning with a tall glass of water.

A Championship Support System

Your coaches and fellow fighters will support you throughout. Avoid people who don't support your goals. Many top fighters actually train alone for this reason.

Adjust your weekends during these 8 weeks. Consider trips where you can train, rest, eat clean, and walk.

Skip big gatherings during camp. If possible, have your household eat the same way. The hardest part is watching others eat pizza and dessert while you eat chicken and vegetables. If needed, eat at different times.
